At Murphy Homes we carry Schult Manufactured Homes and Commander Homes. These types of homes enjoy the efficiencies and the cost savings of factory built homes. These styles of homes are built to stringent building codes with constant in house home inspections plus third party government inspections. All our homes are very energy efficient and structurally superior to "site built" homes.
Manufactured homes are also known as mobile homes, or sectionals, or double wides. They are built to Federal safety standards known as the HUD code. Schult has been manufacturing homes since 1934.
Modular homes are also known as pre-fab, and are built to conventional home codes, like UBC or NEC. Modulars are specifically designed for full basement applications. Generally, plumbing and heating units are in the basement and fully licensed sub-contractors are responsible for installing those components.
